Sierra Propane "Our Family Serving Your Family"

SPRINGERVILLE- With the silver anniversary under their belt in 2008, the Wilfong family, owners and operators of Sierra Propane, happily bring you propane service since 1983.

Sierra Propane was founded with only three employees, Dean and Billie Wilfong and their son Jim, who passed away in 1986. They initially started serving the Springerville/Eagar area in 1983. Now, 26 years later, Sierra Propane employs a staff of 26 local residents serving southern Apache and Navajo counties in Arizona and Catron and Socorro counties in New Mexico. Local offices can be found in Springerville and Snowflake Arizona and Quemado and Magdalena New Mexico.

John Wilfong joined his parents family-oriented team in 1993. He said, "We always promote the company and not the individual because at Sierra Propane, it's truly a team effort."

Sierra Propane provides daily propane service at a competitive price to both the residential and business community of the White Mountains and in western New Mexico. They deliver propane five days a week, Monday thru Friday, and offer their customers toll-free calling from any of the areas they service.

Like John said, "Most of our customers we don't ever see face-to-face. We talk to them over the telephone. So, we want it to be convenient for them to call us without cost anytime they need us. We've hired a friendly, helpful staff to answer our customer's questions and to service their propane needs, because we want them to know how much we appreciate their business."

"At Sierra Propane, it's a matter of doing it right and not just making a buck," John said. "Safety is our highest priority, and we won't fill any residential or business tank until we can assure its going to be done safely. If we feel the logistics between the propane tanks and the residence or business is unsafe, we make recommendations to our customers for their well-being as well as our employees."

Over the 26 years of doing business in the White Mountains, Sierra Propane has been involved in many community projects including when they provided propane for the hot-air balloon enthusiasts when the group used to launch from the Springerville airport as well as free propane for evacuees of the Rodeo-Chedeski fire.

If you want to do business with the "local guys" -- the ones who have not only worked here, but raised their families who attended school here Round Valley -- then you will want to make your first call your only call -- and that's to Sierra Propane -- where the company and its employees are your friends, your family, and your neighbors. It was true back then when the company was first opened in 1983 and now 26 years later, is still true today.
